There is reverse Zoo in China where people are the ones locked up in cages. The Lehe Ledu wildlife zoo in Chongqing transports visitors in caged buses while the animals are free to roam in an effort to keep them happier and less stressed with longer time span.
Have you ever seen such a view in your life? Isn’t it a different approach towards animals? I am so delighted by knowing this fact that animals in the zoo are free to roam about, and people are caged. It is the best way to experience wildlife in their natural environment. I am an animal lover and dislike watching detained animals. They too take birth on this planet to survive and get treated in an appropriate way. We all know that most of the zoos lock up these fascinating creature behind the bars. These locked animals lose their freedom to experience their surroundings.
The Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo lets big cats like tigers, lions and other wildlife species, such as bears, wander free and puts tourists in cages instead. To have this fabulous experience visitors need to book the tour well in advance. All the visitors will be secured in the cage at the back of the truck and taken to marauders fields. Raw meat is draped on the sides of the cage so that animals come closer to the cage, and visitors enjoy the view.
Zoo narrator Chan Liang said,
“We wanted to give our visitors the thrill of being stalked and attacked by the big cats but with, of course, none of the risks. The guests are warned to keep their fingers and hands inside the cage at all times because a hungry tiger wouldn’t know the difference between them and breakfast.”
Everyone may not be having the same choice and preference, but the tours have been tremendously successful. The tours are booked three months in advance. This idea appears to be fascinating and in fact it is not good to keep such striking animals in small spaces where they feel tied up. Keeping the animals in such small places make them stressed, weak, and reduce their life span.
By initiating this different idea, people will also understand the pain which these animals undergo by spending their lives in small cages. I have seen many people tease the zoo animals by throwing stones at them, giving them food despite the warning, start beating on windows and make loud sounds to awaken them. To let animals roam freely is the entirely new concept and many people like the open-minded conduct towards animals.
